the rain in spain stays mainly on the plain

Fair enough. The rains in spain fall mainly on the plains. Or, if in Priorat, rather in the valleys and alleys, just ask little mustang Sally. Now, the ultimate protector of squirrels or badgers (i forget) has heard this one before, twas the only way to describe it though. Today is a garden state of mind soundtrack day. It’s a day of fireplaces and rather-far-from-risqué slippers. You know, it’s that day when you miss the jacaranda city, the mother city and the windy city all at once. It’s a day with no words but many thoughts.

Why can't we get all the people together in the world that we really like and then just stay together? I guess that wouldn't work. Someone would leave. Someone always leaves. Then we would have to say good-bye. I hate good-byes. I know what I need. I need more hellos. ~Charles M. Schulz (from a contemplative -karate kid- friend of mine).

You get the picture. Pensive pondering. Lost in thought, and honestly, also lost in translation here. So the obvious colour of choice is blue.Stop.

At this time, it’s wise to think of different colours. Or at least if you think blue, think maroon and blue. Think Barcelona. Think about la liga, forget about the copa del rey and look forward to a Wednesday wasting of Madrid. Think of Saint George’s day, or here in Cataluña, think of Sant Jordi during semana santa. The brave knight saved the princess, warts and all, by defeating the murderous (maybe just misunderstood ?) dragon. So on this day the girls get roses and give books. Books because William Shakespeare (please know who this is) and Miguel de Cervantes (think Don Quixote) died on this (23rd of April) day. I can’t help but wonder if Shakespeare and this Jorge would’ve really sat around the same (knights of the round) table. Because of the hamlet quote. You know, THE quote : The pen is mightier than the sword ?

True, This!
 —
Beneath the rule of men entirely great,

The pen is mightier than the sword. Behold

The arch-enchanters wand! — itself a nothing! —

But taking sorcery from the master-hand

To paralyse the Cæsars, and to strike

The loud earth breathless! — Take away the sword —

States can be saved without it!

I’m pretty sure señor Jorge would’ve objected to this, which is understandable, when fighting a dragon I’d like myself a sword. Not a bic click pen.

And Miguel de Cervantes might’ve backed Jorge with this:
Because the world is no longer in such a state, however, "the order of knight-errantry was instituted to defend maidens, to protect widows, and to rescue orphans and distressed persons," the knight continues. And facing a dragon could be distressing, to maidens, mice and men alike.
Then again, the times were a-changin’ and between AD 303 (the traditionally accepted day of Saint George’s death) and 1616 (Shakespeare’s death) there might have been some slight modifications in what was regarded as socially (un)acceptable behaviour. so they might've been just grand.

So Pen 1: Sword 1? Mightier than thou or a modest mouse? Who knows these things.

A day can't be a holiday without political interference.

Proof of Life. I do love my bic pens. and the bic click song too.
